I have seen a lot of good developer still use command prompt for all git work. I’m am one of them.

There is a lot of git commands available but a few which most people don’t use. So we can do git tags to make things clean and easy visible last work done on the master branch. I will show you how to create git tags with command prompt.

You can use below commands to create git tag. Make sure you are on the right branch before run these commands.

git tag -a v5.0.0 -m “released version 5.0.0”

git push –tags <remote>

You should be good now.
